Principal’s Message Murphy

Jason Drain, Principal

Dear Parents, Guardians and Students:

It’s that time of year again when we start planning for the upcoming school year. I am looking forward to working with each of you to make your child’s educational experience the best it can be. Murphy will continue to instill the values of lifelong learning, strong character, and the importance of being physically fit in each of our students. We have made growth academically in various grade levels according to our Performance Series scores, however, this year we need to make even greater growth and accelerate the pace of learning. This year we will work just as hard for academic excellence again! We will work even harder on the M-Step Test this spring.

We have planned many exciting events and want to bring students, parents and staff together to build Murphy into a community that is sharing in the educational responsibilities of each student.

This school year a Zero Tolerance Policy for following the Code of Conduct will continue to be implemented. The uniform policy will be enforced starting on the first day of school. Remember, burgundy/white SOLID polo shirts, gray pants, and black shoes. Students may enter the building at 7:45 a.m. each morning through the main entrance of the school. At this time the students will go directly to the cafeteria for breakfast. Dismissal is at 3:30 p.m. and students can be picked up in the front of the school. Remember, if you are there to observe your child in class, talk with your child’s teacher or Principal, an appointment must be scheduled in advance. This enables us to know who is in the building at all times for safety precautions for all staff and students at Murphy. We appreciate your cooperation in advance.
