Dear Parents/Guardians,
On behalf of the staff at Stewart Performance Academy, I am happy to welcome you to the 2016-17 school year! I am truly excited and look forward to working with our dedicated staff and community partners to provide the best educational support and programs for our students. In short, our vision and mission is to provide a first-rate academic and fitness program to students in grades K-8. In light of this, my focus as the school leader is to provide the leadership that will facilitate a structured school environment providing academic challenges in all grade levels through quality decisions.
Equally important, to continue addressing students’ academic needs across all grade levels and content areas in support of helping students reach the State’s standards, we will continue examining the various sources of data gathered at our school. Teachers will continue to practice school improvement processes daily to achieve our academic goals that will initially support student’s abilities to become life-long learners.

Stewart Performance Academy pride ourselves in building positive relationships with all stakeholders to ensure the growth and development of our students. We are looking forward to a productive partnership with you to ensure our children can achieve their highest potential. Through this partnership you will help to make a great difference in your child’s education.
Stewart Performance Academy had a successful 2015-2016 school year and we are anticipating another productive year. This school year students will have the opportunity to participate in after school programs, such as tutoring, athletics, and clubs. In addition, this school year Stewart has enhanced the support we will provide our extended family. Parents and guardians will have a set forum to express concerns, questions and comments. We will have parent workshops based on your interest.

As partners, we share the responsibility for our children’s success and want you to know that we will do our very best to carry out our responsibilities. It is not only through a constant line of communication, but action on the school and home fronts that we will reach our goals set for the 2016-2017 school year. Therefore, we ask that you guide and support your child’s learning by ensuring that he/she attends school daily and arrives on time in dress code, ready for the day’s learning experience.

Educationally Yours,
Detra Coleman
