Dear HAPA Families,
Welcome to the school year! We hope you enjoyed a summer vacation filled with fun and exciting memories with your loved ones. We are thrilled to welcome all of you back to a new school year of learning and growing.
This school year we will have a strong focus on building character through our Character Education Program. These traits include: Positive Attitude, Integrity, Respect, Work Ethic, Responsibility, and Teamwork. It is our hope that every individual connected to HAPA implements these traits throughout the school year, and beyond. The theme also supports our mission statement, which stresses the value of academics, as well as lifelong health and fitness.
Parents and students can stay informed about all things HAPA by liking our “Performance Academies” Facebook page and keeping the office current with contact numbers and current address. We will send updates via mail and automated call to ensure that families are in the know with events and special notices.
School doors open daily at 7:50 AM and Breakfast will be served until 8:05 AM. Students will be marked tardy after 8:10 AM. If a student is late, a parent needs to come into the office to sign them in. Parents should drive around the building to drop off and pick up their children by the southwest door of the school. Students should never be left outside before 7:50 am unattended. Walkers should enter the front door of the building at 7:50 am. Pick up will begin at 3:40 PM and conclude at 4:00 PM. Our first day of school is Monday, August 15, 2020 and will be a full day for all students. Busses will arrive to the school at 3:30 PM and load by the gym doors, while parents will drive around the building for students to be called over announcements. Please make sure your student’s name tag is visible on the dash to increase efficiency. Walkers will be released at 4:00PM from the office (forms must be on file). If your student is changing their method of transportation for the day, a written request is required to the front office prior to 2:00PM.
Our student dress code is consistent with Performance Academy expectations. The dress code for girls include the Performance Academy selected plaid skirt only and polo (white or maroon), or a white button down blouse with tie. Leggings are permitted under skirts and must be gray, maroon, or black in color. For Boys, students are permitted to wear gray pants, a white or maroon polo, or white button up with tie, and a black belt. The school uniform will be adhered to this school year with no exceptions. All students are required to wear black shoes (Velcro for Kindergarten), and bring their fitness uniform to school. The fitness uniform includes a gray t-shirt and solid color “basketball” shorts (maroon, gray, or black). Students may wear a cardigan sweater over their uniform in white, gray, black or maroon. Jeans and hooded sweatshirts are never permitted.

As a reminder when reporting student absences, all absences need to be reported by 9:00 AM by calling and leaving a message or speaking to Ms. James or Ms. Smith.
