Students in grades K-8 begin each day by reciting the Marva Collins Creed in each of our schools in Ohio and Michigan before diving into daily character education lessons. We love that middle schoolers at Harvard Avenue Performance Academy of Cleveland have on their own created a bulletin board in the middle school hallway to celebrate Marva Collins, the famed educator from Chicago, to write about her life and discuss what the Creed means to them. They even identified unfamiliar words in the body of the Creed and expanded their vocabularies! Way to go HAPA kids and teachers!
